A gunman is in custody following a shooting at an Ohio high school in which five students are reported injured.
The shooting occurred around 7:30 a.m. at Chardon High School in northeastern Ohio, about 30 miles east of Cleveland. Chardon is a city of about 5,100.
The sheriff tells WKYC-TV that the suspected shooter, a male student, turned himself in to bystanders off site from the school. A teacher had chased the him from the building, the TV station reports.
WKYC also reports that the victims were found at three locations inside the high school.
Hillcrest Hospital spokeswoman Heather Phillips tells CNN that two students, one male and one female, were taken there. She says one is in stable condition and one is in serious condition. She declined to identify the students, citing the requests of the families.

Justin Bieber’s girlfriend, Selena Gomez was recently spotted with a new tattoo on her right wrist.
While widely reported to be a heart, the 19-year-old star tells Access Hollywood the ink is actually an ode to her love of music.
“It’s a music note,” Selena told Access Hollywood of her new tattoo at The Fifth Annual Women in Film Pre-Oscar party in Los Angeles on Friday. “Everybody thought that it was a heart for some reason, but music is a big influence in my life.

“I was named after a singer, I’m a singer and a lot of other personal reasons,” she explained. “So, that’s what I got.”

In addition to her tattoo, the “Love You Like A Love Song” singer has been sporting another new adornment on her hand – a diamond-studded ring in the shape of a “J,” prompting some to wonder if she and boyfriend Justin Bieber were thinking of making a trip down the aisle.
“No, no — that’s like almost a friendship ring,” Selena told Access of the ring’s implications. “It’s just for fun.”
When asked to show off the jewelry, the former Disney darling suddenly came down with a sudden case of stage fright, saying, “No! You’ll see it in pictures!”
“I get nervous,” she added with a laugh.
